Scope The Laboratory Supervisor will be responsible for the non-routine analytical analysis, document control, management of Moss Landing Cement Company (MLCC) laboratory facilities, data control and retrieval, and training of operational staff in routine testing and working to document procedures. He/She is expected to develop test schedules, and protocols to achieve the necessary goals. Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain laboratory, and train operation staff. • Design, and implement testing programs in concert with quality and business systems and implement database system to log/track plant analytical parameters. • Perform routine and non-routine tests as required. • Ensure product quality, environmental compliance, and document compliance. • Draft standard operating procedures and technical instructions and reports. • Add to the safety culture at Calera and keep the laboratory and plant clean. • Adhere to standard operating procedures and other technical instructions. • Perform all training as required. • Perform other tasks as required. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related discipline • Must have cement industry experience and testing experience in a laboratory environment • Minimum 3 years of Quality Control and Quality Assurance experience • Diligent, self-motivated, detailed oriented and responsible attitude • Excellent communication and organizational skills • Experience in industrial environments highly desirable • Good team player Moss Landing Cement Company (MLCC) was founded in May 2008 to develop new cement processing methods that are friendly to our environment. We believe that our new cement will become the construction material of choice in the near future and will have a dramatic impact in restoring our environment. Our facility is a test environment where we will prove and validate our unique processing methods.
