Area: Southern California My client is a leading clean power systems company located in Southern California actively seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with an in-depth understanding of high-technology product development that will drive component size, weight and cost reduction strategies. If you are a motivated self-starter who is a strong, analytical problem-solver and you have the ability to address the complex technical matters of a fuel cell system this is a great opportunity. Responsibilities • Develop and/or specify mechanical and electro-mechanical components for a back up power fuel cell systems • Develop Bills of Material, Process Sheets, Assembly Procedure Manuals, and Product Installation/Service Manuals, etc • Create schematic layouts & 3D models and assemblies • Perform thermal and mechanical analysis to optimize design • Plan and perform feasibility study of designing components and modifying existing components • Guide the development of mechanical test requirements for back-up power system, execute test specifications Requirements • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering • 5 years (minimum) of mechanical design experience with tightly packaged products • 1-2 years prior experience in fuel cell stack design • Solid Works, AutoCad, FMEA analysis, and MTBF analysis experience • Experience creating PIDs, Base Operating Models and SOPs • MS in Mechanical Engineering (would be a plus) Benefits • Paid Vacation • 401K • Health Insurance and more...
