EnerNOC has an immediate need for a Network Administrator in our Network Operations Center, responsible for enabling and maintaining our distributed network of energy metering devices across 6,000+ customer sites. Our four-person Network Team is responsible for establishing internet-based communication with all new customer sites and for maintaining reliable and secure communications at existing sites. Your demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, excellent communication skills, and solid networking background are all essential elements of a successful applicant. The mission of the Network Operation Center (NOC) is to provide capacity to the grid by reducing customers’ electricity consumption on an emergency basis. We also participate in growing Energy Efficiency, Carbon Management, and Energy Procurement businesses. In order to provide these services, we meter energy demand at each of our 6000+ customer sites and, at many sites, we use this connection to remotely reduce our customers’ energy consumption. A robust and highly available network, therefore, is the foundation of our business, and it is critical for this network to be operational at all times.

Within this context, the candidate will specifically be responsible for:

* Enabling communications with new customer sites
* Measuring and tracking the stability, availability, and security of the network
* Proactively maintaining connectivity to our wide area network of customer sites
* Performing root cause analysis of our connectivity and data collection problems
* Identifying and remediating security risks within the network

In support of EnerNOC’s core business of demand response, the Network Operations team participates in our demand response events by:

* Learning demand response protocols and program rules
* Training and conducting simulations of demand response events
* Executing demand response events
* Coordinating time critical troubleshooting with site technicians to ensure maximum customer participation during demand response events
