Gaia Human Capital Consultants is conducting an executive search assignment for Head of Business Development - Clean Energy. This position will be located on the West Coast, U.S.A. Summary: Our client, headquartered in the U.K., is highly recognized as the world’s leader in the transportation engineering consulting industry. Their business has been diversifying into several clean energy markets and works with system developers, their investors, utilities and Government agencies across a wide range of the following Clean Energy sectors: • Advanced vehicle technology • Wind turbines (including the gearbox) • Wave & tidal power generators • Energy transmission corridor • Concentrated solar power • Compressed air energy storage systems • Flywheel energy storage systems • Micro CHP systems • Fuel cells • Hydrogen infrastructure • Batteries • Application of biofuels Qualifications: We are seeking candidates with strong engineering experience in the clean energy industry and in several of the aforementioned clean energy sectors. A prominent engineering consulting firm in automotive, transportation and vehicle technology, our client requires a individual, who has spent some portion of their career concentrated on the development, deployment and testing of advanced technology vehicles and alternative fuels. Proven ability to successfully lead and develop cross-functional engineering teams. Well organized to maintain solid understanding and conceptual awareness of complex client clean energy projects. Ability to establish successful partnership relationships internally and externally and to work very well with client engineering and management teams. Possess excellent problem resolution and team-building skills, fostering the firm’s innovation and creativity. This individual should possess a strong degree of passion for clean/renewable and wind energy, sustainability and environmental conservation. Responsibilities: This individual will be responsible for executing the firm’s Cleantech business strategy to drive the business goals of acquiring new customers in key markets, maintaining and growing industry leadership along with supporting revenue & growth objectives. This individual will offer a full range of services to address the technical and engineering needs of clean energy sector clients including: • Technical due diligence • Product development planning • Design, design analysis and prototyping • Development testing and field trailing • Quality improvement, cost reduction and manufacture design • Validation and launch Manage the development of clean energy business and deliver project engagements when won; Define customer target strategy, internal R&D activities, and develop technical selling materials; Continue building the firm’s image & brand as the leading engineering consultancy to the clean energy industry; Identify and lead the development of bids for major projects, developing the project structures to ensure successful delivery and profitability.
