SUMMARY: The company markets technology services to Investor Owned Utilities, Electric Co-Operatives and Municipalities. This position is directly responsible for closing enterprise wide orders with new customers and continuing to develop relationships to gain additional and new business. Person is responsible to accurately forecast revenue and risk of pending deals. Must understand company’s products/services, how they work as a total solution and present this to prospects. CANDIDATE MUST have experience selling to U.S. electric utilities at Investor Owned Utilities. This is an INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTOR position with no supervisory responsibilities. Our client has two openings – each in Northeastern and Southeastern, U.S. The candidate should live in the area of interest RESPONSIBILITIES: • Prospect, negotiate and close enterprise sales to meet or exceed quota. • Develop and maintain key customer relationships at the C-Level within the Utilities. • Build and maintain relationships with product sales team, product managers, marketing, and others who could have a positive impact on ability to sell a total solution. • Use Sales software system to update customer information, develop pipeline, estimate timing, cost and value of potential sales. • Prepare and deliver professional sales presentations to a broad range of audiences, including managers and high level executives at customer locations and trade events. • Follow guidelines on Revenue Recognition, to maximize revenue and timing. • Translate customer\'s business and technical challenges into business solutions. • Provide input for proposals and subcontract agreements. • Develop, implement and prioritize plans to take advantage of sales opportunities in market. • Prepare accurate and thorough sales activity reports, forecast reports and expense tracking using appropriate company systems and procedures. • Keep current on competition, government regulations as they affect our clients, pricing, new technology in the industry. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: • 10+ years of selling enterprise technology solutions to the electric utility industry. • Documented success of multiple $100,000+ sales (same fiscal year) with proven annual quota achievement >$2.0MM. • An extensive network of executive level (VP+) contacts at Investor Owned Utilities, Cooperatives and Municipal utilities. • Competent with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and the Internet. • Ability to travel at least 50% of the time. • Ability to conduct executive level presentations including planning, preparation, logistics coordination and follow up. • Ability to work independently in remote office location. EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience -- Business Administration, Engineering or Marketing is preferred.
