The Cadmus Group provides consulting services to a variety of clients in the energy sector, ranging from the US EPA and states, to utilities seeking to reduce their customers' net onsite energy use. Our staff includes engineers, scientists, economists, and other professionals working on a variety of projects to assist our clients in energy efficiency and clean energy projects. Our technical staff performs a range of tasks from in-field system monitoring/resource assessment to high level policy and analytical support services. The Cadmus Group is seeking a motivated engineer/scientist to join our dynamic Watertown, MA team, working on clean energy and building energy efficiency. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, with nearly limitless potential for professional growth and development. We offer full benefits and a competitive compensation package. Responsibilities will include: Technical review of renewable energy system designs and installations. Performance of resource and system energy yield calculations, including onsite measurements of factors such as shading and/or wind resources. Installation and use of field monitoring equipment to conduct resource assessments, energy use/output studies, and confirm expected savings/benefits. A successful candidate will have: At least 2 years of applicable experience performing technical work related to renewable energy and/or energy efficiency Excellent quantitative and organizational skills A background in engineering, physical science, or equivalent technical expertise Ability to work both hands-on and analytically, as well as ability to successfully manage projects with an eye towards budget and timeline Availability for New England/local travel. An ideal candidate, in addition to the above, will have one or more of the following: Specific experience working with common wind/solar energy related software (e.g. RETScreen, PVWatts, Windographer, WindPro, etc.) and hardware (Campbell Scientific, NI, NRG, etc.) for use in resource assessment and system modeling Knowledge of computer based drafting software, surveying techniques, permitting, and/or construction management related to renewable energy projects Knowledge of national/international codes and standards (e.g. National Electric Code, IEC 61400, UL 1741, etc.), as applied to renewable energy systems/projects.
