•The Senior Mechanical Engineer position is a senior level design engineering and management position. The successful candidate must have extensive experience in the design and construction of a variety of project types (higher education, medical facilities, large-scale commercial/industrial, federal/defense projects, etc.), as well as management and client relations experience. The candidate must be able to work successfully in a multi-office, multi-disciplined consulting engineering environment. Reports to Market Leader position.
•Business Development: Leads business development activities to develop discipline in new market, and as requested by market leaders and industry practices. Ability to market mechanical engineering services to a wide variety of clients.
•Organizational Leadership: Make necessary resources available to team, motivate team to achieve individual potential / corporate objectives, and directly supervises team members.
•Project Management: Ensures quality, schedule and budget management, responsibility for coordinating all aspects of mechanical engineering projects, ability to manage multiple projects, and execute commissioning processes.
•15 or more years of progressive work experience required.
•Provides/extends mechanical systems for new construction and or renovation of industrial or commercial structures,
•Review/establish project scopes, mechanical budgets; feasibility studies and project cost estimates; design or approve mechanical systems: HVAC, piping, and plumbing.
•Supervise preparation of working drawings and project specifications. Supervise and develop technical staff, and manage work to meet scope, budget, and deadlines.
•Intensive and diversified knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices in broad areas.
•A lead position, this level includes technical direction over a group of mechanical engineers and functions as a technical specialist, formulating and developing advanced mechanical engineering concepts.
•Coordinates technical and administrative activities with those of other disciplines and other departments in the company participating in a project.
•Workforce Development: Leads recruiting activities to develop team capacity and capabilities. Mentors discipline team members to develop technical capabilities and reach career path goals.
•Requires effective interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills to build and maintain reporting and working relationships within the Team, office and company.
•Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
•Registration as a Professional Engineer required.
•LEED and/or CEM credentials preferred.
•Familiar with code requirements such as UBC, IBC, NFPA, UPC and the Uniform Mechanical Code.
•Requires ability to travel up to 30%.
•Requires the ability to lift 50 lbs or more.
•Requires a valid driver's license and an insurable driving record.
•Relocation Cost can be provided.
•Salary Range: $80-$100K
