Our Business Solutions team has an immediate need for an experienced and motivated Analyst located in our Portland, Ore., headquarters to become a key member of our Business Solutions unit. In this key role, you will report to our Director of Business Solutions and have the opportunity to significant impact on our continued success. Role Description As an Analyst in the Business Solutions group, you will understand and analyze a variety of energy and water technologies and conservation strategies from a financial and environmental perspective. You will understand a wide variety of energy- and water-efficient technologies and clean energy generation systems, and be responsible for detailed financial analyses and the supporting research to keep these analyses up to date. You will be responsible for the collection, management, analysis, and reporting of all quantitative information. In this capacity, you will conduct cost-benefit evaluations, quantify environmental benefits for individual projects and aggregated initiatives, conduct feasibility studies, and perform ad hoc analyses as needed. You will be responsible for the data management and calculations related to greenhouse gas inventories, visual representations of this data, and QA/QC. You will conduct research to support the analytics and technologies, and express analytic results through report writing and presentations. You will work closely with the Business Solutions team to fully evaluate environmental solutions for our clients. Role Competencies As our ideal candidate, you have a background in energy, finance, economics and/or engineering with a focus on quantitative analysis and data management. You possess an advanced degree and at least 5 years of progressive, professional experience in a consultative role in sustainability, energy efficiency and/or renewable energy. You bring a minimum of five years of experience in quantitative analysis and data management and a proven track record of technology evaluation and financial modeling. You have proven problem-solving skills and the ability to work in diverse organizations. Experience in financial and marketing analysis is important as well, with an understanding of business and financial decision implications when delivering projects. Strong computer skills in Excel are important, and programming in VBA is a plus. Certified Energy Manager (CEM) designation is a plus. In this role, you bring a willingness to challenge traditional approaches, with a focus on creativity and innovation in your work and in your approach. This includes effective listening, verbal, and written communication skills along with excellent negotiation, presentation and public speaking abilities. You must be a visible leader with a bias toward spending time with customers, employees and other industry participants.
