Role Description

As our Account Manager, you will manage field activities for Lighting & Products Programs by managing strategic relationships with clients, retailers and distributors. You will be responsible for selling company products and services through resellers/channels in the assigned territory, and represent the company in all activities associated with reseller/channel support. In this role, you will assess potential application of company products or services and offer solutions that meet customer needs. You will be responsible for planning and coordinating meetings or special outreach events. As Account Manager, you will provide technical training to clients and customers and use your technical knowledge of our product offerings to support and build sales. Your job may also include growing existing accounts and working with marketing and other team members to implement program and business development initiatives.

In this position, you will establish and maintain relationships with retailers and client personnel through regular site visits, where you will distribute Program materials and provide ENERGY STAR® and Program training. You will work to strengthen the retail commitment to ENERGY STAR lighting products, increase consumer awareness about ENERGY STAR, and educate consumers and retailers on the benefits of energy efficient lighting, with the goal of increasing sales of qualified ENERGY STAR products. Data tracking the sales of ENERGY STAR products will be used to measure the Program’s success in transforming the marketplace. As our Account Manager, you will provide excellent customer service as needed and cross-train on other Programs as necessary. You will also be responsible for supporting all market activity regarding new ENERGY STAR products and events and will coordinate all ENERGY STAR retailer outreach events.

You will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), and be able to learn the Program-specific software. You have excellent customer interaction, communication and problem solving skills. Previous experience successfully working within a cross-functional team while also being able to work independently is necessary to your success in this role. Background in lighting is a plus.
