The Supervisor, Construction Management oversees the planning and installation aspects of assigned large scale commercial power plant projects. This position reports to the Director, Project Management Office and are regularly required to supervise multiple projects and Construction Managers concurrently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned.)

• Provide the Supervision of Construction Managers who perform traditional Superintendent tasks.
• Schedule Construction Manager’s activities
• Perform contract review and project planning
• Develop Project Implementation schedules with assigned Construction Managers
• Support Construction Manager’s project implementation to insure on time and on budget completion.
• Perform site inspections and assist the Project Manager in job set-up (20-30% travel is required).
• Communicate project progress to Management through Project Summary reports
• Overall Project Safety Plan
• Provide Product Development and System Design feedback on project implementation.
• Coordinate material deliveries with SunPower’s Supply Chain and outside vendors.
• Manage continuous learning/training program
• Perform employee reviews and performance evaluations
• Develop temporary staffing plan to address workload changes.
• Participate in Hiring employees and temporary labor
• Maintain the new hire training program
• Assist in obtaining building permits and business license
• Oversee Site Construction Managers. Responsible for effective oversight of multiple projects, material delivery, subcontractors and installation labor.

Education and Experience

• 15 years experience Supervising Superintendents and/or field staff distributed over multiple projects.
• Experience with managing commercial construction, power plant and/or electrical contracting is required.
• Responsibility for staff development, hiring and allocation of resources.
• Experience with Microsoft office software and project scheduling such as MS Project.

Qualifications

• Strong construction leadership and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of commercial construction practices.
• Familiarity with Solar PV Systems.
• Ability to successfully manage Construction Managers, skilled and unskilled temporary labor force located on remote project sites.
• Ability to successfully procure, monitor and assess subcontracted construction functions (i.e. electrical contractors, commercial roofers.)
• Ability to read schematic architectural, mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and MS Project.
