We are currently seeking a lighting technical assistant for the Salt Lake City, UT office. Successful candidates will be responsible for technical support for Nexant's Energy and Carbon Management business unit. Specific responsibilities will include: performing energy engineering services for clients and end-use customers, administering energy efficiency programs for utilities, reviewing electric energy efficiency projects, and other related tasks.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review and approve all program applications

  • Provide issue resolution for any projects that do not comply with program guidelines

  • Respond to customer and vendor inquiries on the program

  • Communicate effectively with outreach team, subcontractors, clients, and other industry representatives

  • Develop and maintain program materials and software tools

  • Develop working knowledge of the industry



Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in engineering, applied sciences, or similar; or industry experience in lighting, Bachelor's degree is desirable

  • Minimum 1+ years of experience within the lighting or building efficiency industry

  • An understanding of building systems (particularly lighting and controls)

  • Hands-on experience with electrical and control systems is a plus

  • Excellent writing, interpersonal, and analytical skills

  • Excellent computer and database skills, especially Microsoft Excel and Access

  • NALMCO CLMC or other applicable certifications are desirable
